Thank you to all families who have completed online registration for the 2023-2024 school year.  Completion of online registration is essential to ensuring a smooth start to the 23-24 school year.

For those needing assistance with online registration, including needing to submit documents, all schools will be hosting GCSD Registration Day on June 7, 2023, from 9am – 6pm.  School staff will be available on-site to assist with:

  • Completion of online registration – new and returning students
  • Parent Portal – creating new accounts and password issues
  • Accepting proof of residence documentation
  • Accepting updated immunization records

June 7 is for registration assistance only. This is not a Back-to-School event.  Student schedules and/or class assignments for the 23-24 school will not be available on June 7.

Information on Back-to-School events will be released in July.

GCSD Families

As a reminder, online registration is open for the 2023-2024 school year. We encourage all families to complete online registration as soon as possible to prevent delays with student schedules and class assignments for the upcoming school year.

Registration, required for all returning students, is a web-based process completed online through Parent Portal (https://gcsd.powerschool.com/public). Registration cannot be completed through the Parent Portal App.  All returning students must provide 1 current proof of residency. Proof of residency can be uploaded while completing online registration or submitted to your student’s school.

The application window for Intra-District Student Transfers and Out-of-County Student Transfers (for students not requesting to attend a school in our magnet program) will close on June 2, 2023.  The link to the application is available on the district website.

For students interested in transferring to a school in our magnet program (including intra-district and out-of-county transfers), a second application window will be open from June 26, 2023 (8:00 a.m) -  June 29, 2023 (noon).

Directions for accessing online registration are attached. Please contact your student's school for assistance with completing online registration.

Thank you,

Kristi Kibler

Principal's Corner

Welcome, Maryville Colts, to the 2022-2023 school year!

                   Letter from the Principal

Dear Maryville Elementary Family,

It is my great honor to introduce myself as the principal of Maryville Elementary School! I am so excited about becoming a part of the family atmosphere that the Maryville community takes such pride in. This year will mark my 19th year in education. I spent 10 years in the classroom setting before moving to serve as the Reading Coach at Kensington Elementary for four years. Most recently, I served as the Assistant Principal for the last four years. I am looking forward to taking all that I have learned over the course of those 18 years and applying those skills to lead our Maryville family.

I want to take a moment to express to you just how important staying connected to families is to the success of our school and our students. There will be multiple opportunities throughout the year for you to engage in your child’s educational journey here at the school! We must all do our part to ensure our Colts are college and career ready citizens.

The theme for the 2022-2023 school year is “Growing Greatness.” Oftentimes when we think of growth in school, we think of academics. However, I would like to challenge us all to consider how we are growing our Colts academically, behaviorally, socially, and emotionally. By partnering with one another, we can make great things happen and see this growth within our students. You can assist us by ensuring that your child:

  • Attends school daily and arrives on time
  • Completes all assigned homework and classwork
  • Reads daily to foster a love of reading
  • Exhibits respect of self and others
  • Demonstrates responsibility

Your support is so appreciated as we work to educate our Colts to be the best they can be! I look forward to getting to know each of you and collaborating with you to make our school the best it can be.

Leading, Learning, Growing, and Serving,

Principal

Dr. Carla Brandon
