Principal's Corner

Welcome, Maryville Colts, to the 2019-2020 school year!

                   Letter from the Principal

Dear Maryville Families,

It is with great pleasure and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed Principal of Maryville Elementary School. I am grateful and honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such a rich tradition of academic excellence. I have been dedicated to the field of education for more than twenty-three years. My most recent administrative experience was as an assistant principal. I am eager to bring my skills as an educational leader to Maryville Elementary and work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child’s success.

Along with teachers and staff, I will work hard to continue to promote success by building relationships with parents, students, and community partners. We will focus on South Carolina College and Career-Ready Standards, character education, the use of data to drive instruction, and Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports so that we can continue to increase students’ achievement.

All of us at Maryville Elementary School are eager to begin what promises to be the best year ever. This year is going to be amazing as we continue to provide academic experiences for our students that are relevant, engaging, and help them build relationships while making real-world connections. As your principal, it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors are excited to be here! We are dedicated to making our school a fun, positive, and nurturing environment. My door is always open and I welcome your input. At Maryville, we will “Concentrate on Learning and Teaching Successfully”.

I look forward to working with you as a team to help each student at Maryville Elementary School meet their goals and have a successful school year. Go Colts!

Educationally yours,
Tonja Johnson
