A- An active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

B- Believe every child can learn!

C-Culture of Caring- I am committed to creating a “Caring School Community.”

D- Diet: I am living a Keto lifestyle.

E- Earned a Master’s in Education Leadership from Coastal Carolina University and a Master’s in Divergent (At-Risk youths) from Columbia College.

F- Favorite Song: “Treat Her Like a Lady” by The Temptations

G- Gamecock Fan!

H- Hometown: Mayesville, SC birthplace of Mary McLeod Bethune, famous educator

I- Invested in our community!

J- Joined Georgetown County School District in 1997

K- Kyla (19), Kiara (18), and Kaylyn (15) are my daughters.

L- Life Isn’t Complete Without: family, church, literacy, traveling, shopping and cheesecake

M- Married to Wayne Johnson

N-Number of Siblings: 4 sisters and 1 brother

O-Open Door Policy: My doors are open and I encourage parents to be involved in our school.

P- 2019-2020 President of the Georgetown Reading Council

R-Reasons to Smile: My husband and daughters

S-Social-Emotional Learning: Emotions and relationships affect how and what we learn. Unmanaged stress and poor regulation of impulses interfere with attention and contribute to behaviors disruptive to learning. Staff can form positive relationships with students to cultivate a culture of learning.

T- Twenty-three years in education: I have served in various roles such as a 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade teacher, writing teacher, Curriculum Coach, and Assistant Principal.

U- Undergraduate from the University of South Carolina: I currently serve on their Alumni Homecoming Committee.

V-Vacation: My favorite vacation spot is Baha Mar Nassau, Bahamas.

W-Worked at McDonald Elementary for 22 years

X-eXcited to be a part of the Maryville School Family!

Y- Why I Do This? To develop highly effective instructional teachers and staff members who value collaboration in order to increase student achievement. Decisions will be data-driven with a clear focus on every student’s success.

Z- Zodiac Sign: Taurus: My birthday is April 24th.
